Conducted by Kathy Thomas, Friendship Force International. Atlanta. A native of Atlanta, Kathy graduated from University with a degree in psychology and French before working for several major airlines. She started with FFI in 1992 and is the Manager of Programme Services which co-ordinate the work with the Club Leaders around the world.


2. Friendship Force International Online and In the Clouds

Conducted by Mathew Nideck, Friendship Force International. Atlanta. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Mathew graduated from University with a degree in music education and taught and performed music in New York City and Portland. He became a permanent resident of NZ in 2006 working as Community and Funding Advisor at the NZ Dept. of Internal Affairs. Mathew returned to the USA in 2011 and joined FFI where he is able to share his passion for travel, cultural understanding and community service.

3. Interculteral Understanding – are they really “just like us?

Facilitator; Helen Walker. Intercultural Co-ordinator, AFS Intercultural Exchange Programmes. New Zealand. Open the door to deep Intercultural learning and truly change the way you see the world. An interactive, informative workshop, which will help you to explore and understand differences. Be prepared for some surprises along the way as you learn why people think and act the way they do.

4. Club Renewal and Refreshment

Facilitator Colin Ridge; Friendship Force, New Zealand. Co-ordinator for the E-flyer. Like all Clubs, Taupo had a problem with ageing membership. What did they do about it? They went out and found new people who joined so that their club is now in a much healthier state. A chance to come and hear how this was done and see if it will work for your club.
